Called ‘LTE IoT 10 Click’, it is built around Sequans’ Monarch GM02S IC, which supports global 617MHz to 2.2GHz operation.
The board is 3GPP LTE Release 14 compliant, and can be upgraded to Release 17, according to Mikroe.
Transmission is at up to +23dBm, and the module can be switched between LTE-M and NB-IoT modes (Cat M1, NB1, NB2) with a single firmware image – it cannot operate them concurrently.

Its embedded stack supports TCP with TLS 1.3, UDP with DTLS 1.2, CoAP/MQTT, HTTP/FTP, “making it well-suited for secure data communication” said Mikroe.
Communication with the host MCU is through a UART interface using standard Rx and Tx pins plus CTS, RTS and RI hardware flow control pins. The link defaults to 115,200bit/s.
A physical switch (labelled UBOOT) is included to manage firmware upgrades, and there is a JTAG interface.
Additional features include a wake button, reset function, visual status indication, an SMA connector for LTE antennas, a micro SIM card slot, and Mikroe’s ClickID to allow the host systems to identify the board automatically.
“LTE IoT 10 Click is ideal for smart meters, industrial sensors, asset tracking, smart home, smart city and healthcare solutions,” claimed Mikroe CEO Nebojsa Matic.
