Anglia: ‘Lead times likely to move out rapidly’ as market picks up

“All the signs are showing that the market is picking up rapidly, and the theme from many suppliers at our recent sales conference centred on their concerns that if customers do not start placing backlog now, they will run into problems later this year as lead-times are forecast to quickly lengthen,” said distributor Anglia Components’ marketing director John Bowman (pictured).

And while a component seller is bound to say ‘order stuff now’, it also pointed out that Texas Instruments has announced global price increases for over 3,300 analogue products, and that analysts Bernstein is predicting analogue component price hikes – mostly below 30% where competition is fierce, and exceeding 100% with high-precision ADC and DAC, for example

“News from many sources confirm that the excess inventory which has built up over the past two years has mostly been consumed,” said Anglia.

Anglia Components is a privately-owned UK and European distributor of electronic components. It stocks over 2 billion components from 1.7 million product lines at its UK distribution centre.
