“For modern vehicles, accurate switch and latch mechanisms are relied upon by countless systems for feedback,” said the company. “With numerous switches deployed across cars, it is also important to ensure that they minimise power draw – every microwatt counts.”

The device family, MLX92235, are all three-wire monolithic magnetic switches in 2.8 x 2.9 TSOT23-3L package that work across -40 to +105°C and 1.6 to 3.6V (6V abs max).
Two of the family take readings at 11Hz, typically drawing 900nA at 1.8V and 1.2µA at 3.3V.
The other two take readings at 22Hz, drawing 1.2µA at 1.8V and 1.6µA at 3.3V at 22Hz.
Maximums are roughly double the typical values, and 1.8V sleep is at 650nA – the output is frozen in its prior state during sleep.
The part numbers all begin MLX92235RSE-, and are are:
- AAC-001 push-pull output, 11Hz, unipolar south thresholds at 4.0 and 2.5mT
- AAC-003 push-pull output, 22Hz, unipolar south thresholds at 2.3 and 1.3mT
- AAC-101 push-pull output, 22Hz, omnipolar thresholds at ±2.8 and ±1.8mT
- AAB-101 open-drain output, 11Hz, omnipolar thresholds at ±3.0 and ±2.0mT
