Embedded World 2022 is postponed until June

Next year’s Embedded World will take place four months later than usual, as uncertainty due to the Covid-19 pandemic continues. Organiser, NürnbergMesse announced that the show will take place in Nuremberg from 21-23 June instead of its usual February timeslot.Benedikt Weyerer, the exhibition and conference’s executive director, said: “By deciding at an early stage to defer embedded world 2022 until summer, we are meeting the wishes of many exhibitors and enabling them to plan with confidence”.

This year’s Embedded World was a digital event, with virtual exhibition stands testing the ingenuity of companies who had to construct an exhibition space for digital conversations with visitors. Before that, the February 2020 event was depleted as the exhibition took place as the pandemic began to make its presence felt in Europe.

Next summer’s event will be the 20th Embedded World, which encompasses embedded system design. The organisers expect a focus on RISC-V and chip supply shortages as well as discussions around trends such as AI, open source and secure connectivity.

A display technology conference runs alongside the exhibition. For 2022, micro-LEDs and OLEDs will be hot topics, says conference committee chair, Professor Karlheinz Blankenbach
