The boards are now available from Mouser Electronics. Pimoroni designs and manufactures products for makers, educators and creatives. It is supported by the Raspberry Pi and wider maker communities and says its mission is to make electronics “accessible and attractive and spread knowledge, fun and ideas”.
The distributor stocks the PIM476, a 1.3-inch SPI colour LCD breakout board, which has a bright display and runs at up to 50 fps and has in-plane switching (IPS) for a choice of viewing angles. It is compatible with all models of Raspberry Pi and Arduino boards and has reverse polarity protection.
There is also the PIM480, SGP30 sensor breakout board. This is based on the Sensiron multi-pixel gas sensor which measures total volatile organic compounds and equivalent carbon dioxide in indoor environments for safety systems. This board also has reverse polarity protection and minimal drift through time. Its pinout is compatible with Raspberry Pi.
For motor control, the PIM479 DRV8830 breakout board is an H-bridge, bi-directional, DC motor driver, based on the DRV88s0 brushed DC motor driver from Texas Instruments. Its current limit is configurable to 0.2A or 1.0A. There are four I²C addresses that can be used simultaneously for direction and speed control.
