Raspberry Pi anticipates consistent million unit months

Raspberry Pi is on the way to consistent shipments of a million units a month.

After shortages due to the chip supply situation, CEO Eben Upton has made the following statement:

“We’ve been working hard to improve availability of Raspberry Pi products. Despite this, Q1 was actually our worst quarter since 2015, with roughly 800,000 units shipped: a good month’s volume, spread across a quarter.”Raspberry Pi4 PoEplus HAT

”This in part reflects the underlying silicon supply situation, and is also due to our efforts to pull production into December to provide our hobbyist customers and resellers with a happier
Christmas.”

”As we proceed through the second quarter of 2023, we are seeing a rapid recovery in silicon supply.”

”Thanks to Sony’s willingness to stockpile the non-silicon elements of our bill of materials, we have been able to rapidly convert this improved supply into finished goods: we expect to sell over 600,000 units in May, 800,000 units in June, and from July onward we are able to sustain million-unit months for as long as is necessary to clear our remaining customer backlogs and return to free availability.”

”It’s been a painful two years since shortages kicked in in 2021, but we’re confident that the shortages are behind us, and that 2023 will be our strongest ever year for sales of Raspberry Pi single-board computers and modules.”

Any follow up on this? June is over and it should be possible to determine if their predictions held.
