10,000 hours of tests at 55, 85 and 105˚C showed the device exceeds lumen maintenance requirements for both Energy Star and qualification by the DesignLights Consortium (DLC).
Projections based on TM-21-11 predict at least 90% of initial light output (L90) will be maintained for a minimum of 60,000 hours at a 200mA drive current and 85˚C – or 13 years when used every day for 12 hours.
Not all mid-power LEDs are well deigned or well made.
”Based on our experience as a high power LED manufacturer, we were able to utilise our technology know-how to create the 3535L, which has become a choice among discerning LED lighting manufacturers,” said Lumileds v-p marketing Rahul Bammi.
The devices come in a choice of colour temperature and CRI, and there are three performance options – 3535LS, 3535L and 3535L HE.
They have made their way into area lighting, high bay and low bay applications – Lumileds sees them in applications such as troffers, down-lights and TLEDs.
