Rugged 100Gbit/s optical transceiver is solderless

Cinch Connectivity Solutions has announced a 100Gbit/s optical transceiver, intended for tough environments including aerospace, industrial and military.

H28-100G-SR4 has four transmit and four receive channels, each rated at 25.78Gbit/s.

For ease of installation and replacement, the package has a square array of flat pads underneath and it mounts to a similar array on the associated PCB via a guide frame and an electrical interposer. Optical connections are via a fibre ribbon cable.


Transmission is from a temperature-compensated 850nm VCSELs and the receivers are GaAs PIN diodes. OM3 or OM4 multi-mode fibre is used.


Operation is over -40 to 85°C.
