In the historic auditorium Electronics Weekly’s editor, Caroline Hayes, welcomed guests to the Awards and reflected on the history of the event. She also remarked on some significant personalities and events for the industry that had occurred in that year.

The host for the Awards was London comedian Emmanuel Sonubi, who has hosted Live at the Apollo and Comedy Centrals Live. He charmed and amused attendees with anecdotes from his career on the live comedy circuit and his former career as a bouncer.
