Rohde and Schwarz demystifies VNA measurements

Rohde and Schwarz is holding a free one day seminar in March on the use and understanding of vector network analysers.

Taking place on 17th March in Weetwood Hall, Leeds, the seminar will cover the basics of connector systems, S-Parameter measurements and the need for user calibration in practical network analyser measurements.

It will also explore the topic of measurement uncertainties, verification kits and use of the R&S uncertainty calculation tool, “VNAMUC” to gain further insight into measurement accuracy.

And it will touch on some modern applications of network analysers, e.g. absolute power measurements of amplifiers.

Each section will comprise of a presentation explaining the topic and an accompanying live practical demonstration.

• Essentials in connectors and good handling

• Network analyser fundamentals and S-parameter basics

• Introduction to error correction and user calibration

• Time domain reflectometry and offset embedding in practical applications

• Introduction to measurement uncertainty and verification tools

• Basic amplifier measurements and power calibration with a network analyser

Registration for the seminar will start at 9.00 and aim to finish at 16.30. Buffet lunch will be provided.
