“In the early stages of 5G research, flexibility is the key to investigating new waveforms, frequency bands and bandwidths,” said the firm. “Signal Studio for custom modulation provides this flexibility through a suite of tools that enables creation of emerging 5G candidate waveforms, such as filter bank multicarrier [FBMC], as well as custom OFDM and I/Q configurations.”
Also for generating proprietary military and satellite communication waveforms, Signal Studio includes I/Q quick setups such as digital video (DVB – S2X APSK), SOQPSK and OFDM, that users can modify to fit their requirements.
Amongst its many other announcements at Mobile World Congress, Keysight introduced the multi-channel phase-coherent M9391A PXIe vector signal analyser (VSA) and M9381A PXIe vector signal generator (VSG) for characterisation and test of wireless designs requiring multiple time-synchronised or phase coherent channels.
Targets are validating multi-antenna techniques, such as 8×8 MIMO spatial multiplexing, diversity, carrier aggregation and beamforming.
