DAC date is Dec 2021

The DAC Executive Committee has announced that the Design Automation Conference will move from its summer date to 5-9 December 2021. It is hoped that the postponement will allow time for a vaccination rollout and travel restrictions to be eased for a ‘real life’ event to take place. At the moment, the venue, San Francisco’s Moscone Center is being used as a Covid-19 vaccination centre.

In real life networking has always been a “key element” of the event, says the DAC committee. “Much of the historic value of DAC has been in the face-to-face connections and networking that attendees experience at the live event,” said Harry Foster,  chief scientist of verification at Siemens EDA and general chair of the 58th DAC.

Submissions for the 2021 DAC program has closed and are being reviewed. Submissions have been received from all regions worldwide, reported the conference organisers, classifying 63% as “international”.

The 58th DAC will be co-located with SEMICON West 2021 (7-9 December in the North and South halls of the Moscone Center)

In the event that travel restrictions are still in place in some regions by December, part of the event will be available digitally between 5-9 December.
