Q4 Saw Biggest-Ever Smartphone Unit Fall

Q4 smartphone shipments declined 18.3% y-o-y to 300.3 million units, says IDC, which was the largest-ever quarterly fall. Full-year shipments fell 11.3% to 1.21 billion units – the lowest since 2013.

The replacement rate is 40 months plus, says IDC’s Anthony Scarsella.
