“We supply the single wires untwisted, allowing customers to twist them according to their application needs to achieve better transmission results,” said Binder product manager Guido Werner. “M8-D-coded connectors enable communication between controllers, sensors and actuators in manufacturing and process plants.”
There are three versions, all unshielded with four pins – the company has Profinet in mind as one application – and 200mm long wires – custom lengths are available.
There are male and female versions that mount from the rear, and a female version that mounts from the front (see image).
Threads are all M8 x 1mm and O-rings seal to the panel is a way that meets IP-67, claims the company. Mating connectors are retained by screw thread.
Operation is over -40 to +85°C, 63V (1.5kV impulse) and 4A – the wire is 0.25mm2 (24AWG).
Life is over 100 mating cycles, said binder.
