0.53mΩ mosfet in 5 x 6mm DFN package

Rohm has created three n-channel power mosfets in 5 x 6mm DFN packaging.

RS7E200BG is a 30V mosfet optimised for both secondary-side ac-dc conversion and hot-swap controllers in 12V enterprise server power supplies.

RS7N200BH is an 80V mosfet optimised for secondary ac-dc conversion in 48V server power supplies, as is RS7N160BH.

“The DFN5060-8S package increases the internal die size area by approximately 65% compared to the conventional 5 x 6mm HSOP8 package,” said Rohm. “As a result, the 30V RS7E200BG and 80V RS7N200BH achieve on-resistances of 0.53mΩ and 1.7mΩ respectively with 10V [gate drive].”

Mosfet Vdss Id Pd Rds(on) in mΩ

Typ Max Typ Max Typ Max
RS7E200BG 30V 390A 180W 0.53 0.67 0.75 1.06
RS7N200BH 80V 230A 1.7 2.0 2.1 2.9
RS7N160BH 80V 160A 160W 2.2 2.6 2.7 3.8

Within the package, the clip design has been optimise to to enhance heat dissipation.

“RS7E200BG at 30V achieves an SOA [safe operating area] tolerance of over 70A at a pulse width of 1ms and Vds = 12V, which is twice that of the conventional HSOP8 package mosfets under the same conditions,” claimed the company.
