All parts have a 40 x 52.5mm footprint and stand 25.5mm tall. PCB versions (RAC15-xxSK/WI) have through-hole pins underneath, while the flying lead version (add /W suffix) have four 100mm wires protruding from the base.
There are five versions, all with single outputs, of 05, 12, 15, 24 or 54V (replace xx in the part number with the voltage).
“Particularly high operating efficiency [~82%] enables a full rating of 15W output typically above 48Vac input and up to 60°C ambient, depending on output voltage variant,” according to Recom. “Between 18Vac and 48Vac, and at high ambient temperatures with convection cooling up to 85°C, useful power levels are still available.
They are Class II parts, that meet reinforced isolation standards according to UL/IEC/EN/CAN-CSA 62368-1 for audio/video and IT equipment, and IEC/EN 60335-1 for household appliances.
Class B EMC levels and eco-design requirements for standby and no-load losses are met, said the company, and outputs are classed ‘limited power sources’, protected against shorts and over-voltage. The inputs are rated for over-voltage category III operation up to 3000m.
“Along with our mechanically-identical RAC15-K/480, just two 15W-rated parts can now cover nominal inputs between 18Vac and 480Vac,” said Recom product manager Michael Schrutka. “These ac-dcs suit applications where the input can vary widely, or where it is advantageous to fit just one part to cover several nominal inputs.”
