1mm inductors carry 480mA for power filters

Power-over-coax circuits in automotive cameras are the target that TDK is aiming at with 1005 multi-layer inductors.

Measuring 1 x 0.5 x 0.5mm, there are three devices in the MLJ1005-G series: 0.27, 0.36 and 0.47μH

“With PoC technology, a single coaxial cable can simultaneously carry both power and data, streamlining the wiring,” according to the company.


A filter is required to separate power from signal, and that is that the inductors are designed for.


“By using proprietary materials and structural design innovations, TDK has minimised impedance deterioration,” it said. And in future, “by refining multi-layer, wire-winding and thin-film technologies, TDK aims to expand its PoC inductor portfolio”.
