Tiny screened SMD inductors handle many amps

Component distributor Rutronik is offering a series of tiny surface-mount magnetically shielded power inductor from Knitter,

Rutronik Kitter shielded smd inductors

The ICSIxxxxxxTxSHyST12 series spans sizes between 1.6 x 0.8 x 0.8mm and 6.6 x 6.4 x 3.1mm, inductance from 0.1 to 10μH and saturation currents from 1.3 to 35A.

“The inductor series works reliably at operating temperatures from -40 to +125°C and is suitable for a range of voltage regulator modules, dc-dc converters and embedded PCs,” said Rutronik.

Solid wire is used inside, and some have dc resistance as low as 2mΩ.

Picking the ICSI222196T2SHMST12 as an example, it is a 2.2μH (±20%) inductor rated at 1.9A and measuring 2 x 1.2 x 0.8mm. 185mΩ is the dc resistance.

One reel is the minimum order quantity.
