CO2, humidity and temperature sensing module for air quality monitoring

Mouser is shipping a CO2 sensor for air quality monitoring that is “ideal for applications that must meet standards like California’s Title 24, RESET Grade B, WELL, UBA and ASHRAE 62.2”, it said.

Renesas RRH47000 CO2 sensor module

Made by Renesas, the single-channel, non-dispersive infra-red module is called RRH47000 and has automatic baseline calibration for measurement from 0 to 5,000ppm.

Also in there are temperature and humidity sensors, and a microcontroller to communicate the readings.

Relative humidity is measured to ±3.5% and operation is over -10 to + 50°C.

The component distributor is also offering the associated evaluation kit, RRH47000-EVK, including Renesas’ ESCom general-purpose sensor interface, which has a USB-C interface for computers running associated evaluation software, and a daughter board carrying the CO2 sensor.

“The software GUI simplifies sensor data visualisation and supports all operational methods for Renesas environmental and flow sensors,” said Mouser.

ESCom also has a female PMOD connector for connecting additional sensors via I2C, and a male PMOD connector for communication with some of Renesas’ microcontroller evaluation kits.

Applications are foreseen in air-conditioning, demand-controlled ventilation, and in appliances.
