The 1W surface-mount RBF series measures 6.3 x 3.2mm and offers resistances between 0.01Ω and 1Ω.
Tolerances down to 0.5% are available between 0.1 and 1Ω, or down to 1% from 10mΩ to 100mΩ.
All the series are available with a temperature coefficient of ±25ppm/°C between -25 and +125°C, then parts from 100mΩ to 1Ω can also be bought with a tighter ±10ppm/°C spec.
Full power operation is up to +70°C, derating linearly to zero at +155°C.
“Temperature rise of the resistor surface can be optimised by using a board made of metal,” said Rhopoint. “This keeps the temperature rise very low allowing increased power rating of the parts – for example 2W at +70°C. Please keep the temperature of board less than +90°C when using glazed epoxy board.”
Use is expected in solar inverters and wind power monitors, power supplies and converters, pulse protection circuits and over-current detection.
