Tough and sealed power connectors for electric vehicles

Distributor TME is offering high power automotive connectors for electric vehicles from Amphenol GEC.

There are two ranges:

PowerLok G2 are for battery and traction connections at currents up to 300A, voltage up to 1kV, and conductors up to 150mm². Mated sealing is to IP67
PowerLok 4.0 G2 are physically smaller and for sensors and actuators at up to 60A, conductors up to 10mm², and sealing to IP69

Bodies are made from aluminium for strength, and there are wire-ended and panel-mount types as well as straight and angled types.

1, 2, or 3 pin types are available, and operation is over -40 to +125°C.

Mating life is 100 cycles

Transfer Multisort Elektronik is a family-owned company based in Łódź, Poland, operating since 1989.

As an example, the three way connector at the top of the page is PL183X-301-50-2-5, found on this TME web page, which can be attached to cables from 35 to 95mm², and fits into a 40 x 102 x 104mm envelope while weighing just under 400g.

Amphenol also offers multi-pin plastic bodied connectors rated for automotive use up to between 46 and 60A
