House of Lords to hear from Space Industry leaders

Leading figures in the Space industry will appear before a cross-party Lords Committee on Monday June 23 to discuss the Space economy, and issues around domestic launch capability and implications for national security.

The latest evidence session of the Lords UK Engagement with Space Committee will take place from 3.35pm in Committee Room 2, Palace of Westminster, and can be watched live, or later, on Parliament TV. The Committee will publish its full report to Government in the autumn.

  • The impact of Space technology on the UK economy.
  • The Government’s future plans for orbital launch.
  • The importance of domestic launch capability for national security.

The Committee will hear first at 3:35pm from:



  • Rory Daniels, Senior Programme Manager, Emerging Technologies at techUK
  • David Browne, Director, Corporate and Social Affairs, Maersk
  • Joseph Mhango, Senior Lecturer, Applied Data Science, Harper Adams University
At 4:30pm, it will hear from:
  • Phil Chambers, CEO at Orbex
  • Dr Martin Heywood, Director at Newton Launch Systems
  • Mr Stuart Fyvie, Director at Fire Arrow and Independent Advisor to the space industry
