“As AI continues to reshape the landscape of data centre infrastructure, MSI’s servers, powered by EPYC 9005 Series processors [are] ideal for modern data centres,” said MSI general manager Danny Hsu. “Our servers optimise thermal management and performance for virtualised and containerised environments.”

They are based on OCP DC-MHS – Open Compute Platform data centre modular hardware system.

“By relocating the BMC [baseboard management controller] to the DC-SCM [data centre secure control module], DC-MHS enables greater flexibility across CPU platforms and vendors,” said MSI. “This approach reduces the complexity and cost of testing, validation and firmware development.”

D4051 DNO-2 and D4056 DNO-4  are DC-MHS host processor modules.

CD270-S4051-X4 2U is a four-node core compute server with three PCIe 5.0 x4 U.2 NVMe bays per node and liquid-cooled options.

CD270-S4051-X2 2U is a two-node core compute server supporting six PCIe 5.0 x4 U.2 NVMe bays per node.

“Each node is powered by an EPYC 9005 series processor with up to 500W, supporting 12 DDR5 DIMM slots and an OCP NIC for connectivity,” said MSI.

For enterprise use, the 2U CX271-S4056 has a AMD EPYC 9005 processor supported by up to 24 DDR5 DIMM slots and either 8 or 24 PCIe 5.0 x4 U.2 NVMe bays.

“In its eight NVMe setup, it also includes two double-width FHFL PCIe 5.0 x16 slots to support GPUs up to 600W,” said MSI.

Also 2U, the S2301 CXL 2.0 memory expansion server has dual EPYC 9005 processors and 24 DDR5 DIMM slots.

This server has eight E3.S 2T drive bays dedicated to CXL memory, plus eight E3.S 1T NVMe storage bays, achieving 8Tbyte total memory capacity. Applications are foreseen in EDA (electronic deign automation, in-memory database and HPC (high-performance computing).

For AI inferencing, there are 4U GPU servers: G4101-04 and G4101-05, each with a single EPYC 9005 processor up to 500W, and then 12 DDR5 DIMM slots and four triple-wide PCIe 5.0 GPU slots.

These support 12 PCIe 4.0 U.2 NVMe drives and have 3kW redundant Platinum or Titanium power supplies.
